Silver Work
(Filigree): Filigree is a jewel work of a delicate
kind made with twisted threads usually of gold and silver and
Beypazari is especially famous for its silver work. This art may be
interesting for you, so I prepared a slideshow which explains all
the process about how they do it with pictures.

Copper Works:
BIt is again one of the most interesting handicrafts in
Turkey and Beypazari. Craftsmen of Beypazarı usually uses copper to
make materials used in houses. They are still used by people living
in Beypazari. The most common copperwork is Turkish coffee pots. You
see some examples and a interview about copperworks in the video
given above.
  
Oriental Rug
Construction:
BAll oriental rugs are hand-knotted on a webbing formed by
the warp and weft threads. Attached to the top and bottom of the
loom, warp threads run vertically through the carpet. A strand of
wool is tied to a pair of weft threads, forming a knot. The loose
ends of the knots, which make up the body of the rug, are called
pile. Weft threads run horizontally through the carpet and are used
to secure the knots. You can see all the process in Beypazari and

Hand Weaving:
People weave silk as headscarfs in Beypazari. It is already a
tradition that each colour has a different meaning in Beypazari.
Young ladies wear light colours like white, and older ladies wear
green and blue headscarfs, so you can predict a woman's age by the
colour of the headscarf. In the mean time, if ladies wear it holding
twice it means that they go to their neighbours or a close place;
otherwise they go to the marketplace or another district.
Semercilik:
Eski tarihlerde oldukça geçerli bir meslek olan semercilik,
ulaşım araçlarının zamanla değişmesiyle önemini kaybetmiştir.
Beypazarı'nın Bağdat yolu üzerinde bulunması ve kervanların bu yolu
kullanması, ilçede semerciliğin çok eskilere dayandığının bir
göstergesidir. Beypazarı,bu yüzyılda da semercilik mesleğinin
sürdürüldüğü ender ilçelerden biridir.
Saraçlık:
Eyer, at takımları, araba koşumları başta olmak üzere
deriden ve meşinden çeşitli eşyalar yapanlara “Saraç”, bu mesleğe de
“Saraçlık” denilmektedir. Türkler için büyük önem taşıyan bu meslek,
Beypazarı'nda halen yaşatılmaktadır.
Demircilik:
Örs, çekiç, balyoz ve maşa kullanılarak ateş ocaklarında
demire şekil veren demircilerin sayısı azalmış olsa da, 70 yıllık
bir tarihe sahip bu el sanatı halen Beypazarı'nda sürdürülmektedir.
El İşlemeli
Çevreler ve Sırma İşlemeleri: Dokuma ve ince deriden
yapılmış, muhtelif eşyalara usullerine göre iğne ile türlü cins ve
renkte ipliklerle yapılan süslemelere “İşleme” adı verilmektedir.
Beypazarı işlemeleri arasında öne çıkan sırma işlemeli
“bindallılar”, yörede her genç kıza annesinden kalan değerli bir
elbise olarak kullanılmaktadır. Tülbent, mermerşahi ve tül üzerine
sırma ile işlenen, kare şeklinde mendil büyüklüğündeki “Çevre” adı
verilen örtüler ise bindallı elbiselerle birlikte yöre kadınlarınca
günümüzde halen kullanılmaktadır.
